Daniel Phillips Defeated In Doubles Quarters
Daniel Phillips and doubles partner Bogdan Seleznev were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the M15 Kayseri tournament in Turkey after a 6-7, 6-4, 10-4 defeat to Americans Jeffrey Fradkin and Maxwell McKennon.
Phillips and Seleznev edged a tight opening set in a tie-break but were unable to maintain their advantage as the Americans claimed the second set to force a deciding match tie-break.
Fradkin and McKennon took control of the decider, winning it 10-4 to secure a place in the semi-finals.
In the previous round, Phillips and his partner defeated Bulgaria’s Dinko Dinev and China’s Ye Hongyu, 6-3, 6-2.
In the singes, Phillips opened his campaign in the qualifying draw against Turkey’s Christopher Kucukhuseyin, losing 6-2, 6-3.
