Rize Technologies Launches Compass AI
Rize Technologies has announced the soft launch of Compass AI, a “free artificial intelligence guide built specifically for Bermuda.”
A spokesperson said, “Available now at compass.rize.bm and via WhatsApp at +1 441 901 9010, Compass provides instant, locally verified answers about the island — from bus and ferry schedules to restaurant hours, beach information, events, and more.
“Unlike general-purpose AI assistants, Compass is trained exclusively on Bermuda. Every piece of information in the system has been verified by people who live and work on the island, ensuring that answers reflect current, accurate local knowledge rather than outdated web data or generic travel summaries.
“The tool requires no app download and no account registration. Users simply type a question — on the web or via WhatsApp — and receive a direct, specific answer. The service is free to use.”
Gilbert Darrell, CEO of Rize Technologies, said, “We built Compass because we saw a gap that no existing tool was filling. Visitors arrive in Bermuda with limited time and limited local knowledge, and the tools they reach for — Google, ChatGPT, travel apps — give them generic answers that don’t reflect how things actually work here. Compass gives people the answer a local would give: specific, direct, and correct.”
The spokesperson said, “The platform covers a broad range of queries relevant to both visitors and residents. Cruise passengers can ask about transportation from the Royal Naval Dockyard, find beaches and restaurants within walking distance, and check the last ferry departure before their ship leaves. Residents can use Compass to look up pharmacy hours, check holiday closures, confirm business hours that Google frequently lists incorrectly, or settle questions about local schedules and services.”
“The Yellow Pages stopped being useful years ago,” the Rize Technologies team noted. “Google fills the gap with ads, stale listings, and results that are often for somewhere other than Bermuda. Compass picks up where the phone book left off — free, faster, and actually current.”
