Bermuda Swimmers Compete In Finals
At the Greensboro Aquatic Center in North Carolina, Bermudian swimmers advanced to multiple finals during the second evening of the 70th Annual Eastern Invitational.
In the 13-to-14 boys’ 50-meter freestyle, Jacob Leclerc placed eighth in the “A” final.
In the 15 and over 50-meter freestyle divisions, Katherine Wheddon finished eighth in the girls’ “C” final. In the corresponding boys’ events, Noah Maranzana took fifth place in the “B” final, while Gabriel Maranzana won the “C” final. Fellow Bermudian Dominic Wright finished third in the same “C” final.
Wright also competed in the 15 and over 100-meter backstroke, finishing seventh in the “B” final. In the 15 and over 200-meter butterfly, Logan Jones placed fifth in the “C” final.
The session concluded with the 200-meter mixed medley relay. The Bermuda team of Elanna Fulton, Noah Maranzana, Logan Jones, and Katherine Wheddon finished fifth. A second Bermudian relay team, consisting of Allison Steynor, Jamie MacFarlane, Jorgia White, and Gabriel Maranzana, finished seventh.
