IAPP Bermuda Chapter’s Webinar On June 18th
The IAPP Bermuda KnowledgeNet Chapter will host a lunch and learn webinar this Thursday, 18th June with Jaell Dreijer, Group Chief Privacy Officer of Aegon Ltd.
A spokesperson said, “The virtual event entitled International Data Transfers under Bermuda PIPA, will be hosted by the IAPP Bermuda KnowledgeNet Chapter from 12pm to 1pm on Thursday, 18th June. Group Chief Privacy Officer and Head of Group Legal Digital, Jaell Dreijer, will discuss his experience as a European GDPR expert who now works in Bermuda.
“Aegon Ltd. is an international financial services group focused on life insurance, pensions, and asset management. Aegon is headquartered in the Netherlands, with their legal seat in Bermuda, and is listed on Euronext Amsterdam and the New York Stock Exchange.
“Mr. Dreijer has a Postmaster Degree in Privacy Law from Grotius Academie and an LLM degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with certifications and expertise in insurance.
“Mr. Dreijer’s presentation will discuss his experience approaching data transfers, the mechanisms he uses, his position on outsourcing to third parties, challenges for data transfers in the future, and advice, tips and best practices for international data transfers. He very much encourages asking questions to make the session as interactive as possible.
“The Co-Chairs of the IAPP Bermuda KnowledgeNet Chapter, Nancy Volesky, Cheryl Mapp and Lovette Tannock are looking forward to hosting this event and believe that privacy officers in Bermuda can benefit greatly from hearing Mr. Dreijer’s expertise with GDPR and Bermuda’s PIPA legislation.
