Saundre Simmons Boxing Fight Cancelled

Bermudian boxer Saundre “Dash” Simmons’s bout has been cancelled after his opponent pulled out of Asheville Fight Night in North Carolina tonight [June 6].

The light heavyweight, who has a 9-0 record, had been scheduled to fight at the Crowne Plaza in Asheville.

“My opponents have failed to show up,” Simmons said.

“My scheduled fight is unfortunately cancelled. I truly appreciate that support more than I can say. If you need a refund for your tickets, please message me directly and I’ll make sure you get taken care of.

“With that being said, I will still be on the card doing a four-round exhibition bout before the main pro fights. It won’t be sanctioned, but I’ll still be stepping in and showcasing the work I’ve been putting in.

“I still encourage everyone to come out, support the show, and show love to the other local fighters putting their all on the line. If you see me there, come say what’s up – I’ll still be around and available to chop it up.

“Fight got cancelled. Dream didn’t.”

Simmons was born in Massachusetts and raised in Somerset, Bermuda, but spent part of his youth in Asheville.

He trains at Bone Breaker Gym in nearby Morganton.

The 28-year-old turned professional in 2023 after an amateur career and has won all nine of his professional bouts by knockout.

In his previous fight in October, Simmons stopped Mexico’s Francisco Rios in the third round in Mexicali.
