A total of 63 paddlers and 27 vessels took part in today’s [June 7] Kayak For Kids Event, with participants completing long distance, intermediate and relay routes, helping to raise money to support the important work done by the Saving Children and Revealing Secrets [SCARS] charity.

The charity’s mission is “to reduce the risk of child sexual abuse and to be an advocate and voice for children who have been sexually molested as well as their affected family.”
Update June 8: The organizers advised that the numbers changed slightly [in a positive way a few more people took part!] so the text above has been adjusted accordingly.
