Princess And CedarBridge Culinary Program
Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is celebrating the continued success of its partnership with CedarBridge Academy, a collaboration that is shaping the next generation of Bermuda’s culinary and hospitality professionals through the Hamilton Princess x CedarBridge Academy Junior Culinary Arts Program.
Tim Morrison, General Manager of Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said: “At Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, we believe that investing in Bermuda’s young people is one of the most meaningful contributions we can make to our island’s future. Our partnership with CedarBridge Academy through the Junior Culinary Arts Program allows students to step into a world-class hospitality environment, build confidence, and discover their potential.”
A spokesperson added, “The partnership began in 2022 at Hamilton Princess’ Hospitality Career Event, where Hotel Executive Chef Adam Ashe connected with CedarBridge Academy Educator Mrs. Joanne Anderson, Exploring Careers In Nutrition and Hospitality. Their shared commitment to developing young Bermudians sparked what has become a deeply impactful educational alliance.”
Chef Adam said: “From the moment we met the first CedarBridge students, it was clear they had passion and curiosity. We wanted to create a pathway that would allow them to experience the real pace, discipline, and creativity of a professional kitchen.”
A spokesperson added, “Since then, the Junior Culinary Arts Program has evolved into a structured, immersive learning experience that aligns closely with the Ministry of Education’s Exploring Careers and Hospitality curriculum. Students participate in guided tours, hands-on kitchen rotations, and exposure to multiple departments across the hotel.
To date, the partnership has produced meaningful outcomes:
- 18 CedarBridge Academy students have completed the Junior Culinary Arts Program
- 4 graduates have gone on to pursue post-secondary culinary studies
- 9 students are currently enrolled in CBA’s Trades & Professions [Culinary Arts] program
- 5 students have gained summer employment at Hamilton Princess
“A hallmark of the program is the full engagement of the hotel’s culinary team. Students are outfitted in official culinary attire and integrated into the Crown & Anchor kitchen, as well as the hot, cold, and pastry kitchens— working side-by-side with seasoned professionals from Bermuda and around the world.”
“We don’t give them a tour and send them home,” said Chef Adam. “We put them in the heart of the operation. They chop, prep, plate, and learn what it means to be part of a team. They rise to the challenge every time.”
CedarBridge Academy Educator Mrs. Joanne Anderson praised the partnership for its transformative impact on students. “The Hamilton Princess x CedarBridge Academy Junior Culinary Arts Program has been invaluable for our young people.
:Students return to the classroom energized, confident, and eager to share what they’ve learned. Some discover a true passion for culinary arts, while others realize their interests lie elsewhere—and both outcomes are equally important. Every student gains skills, discipline, and industry insight that will serve them for life.”
Mrs. Anderson added: “What stands out most is how the entire Hamilton Princess culinary team embraces our students. They are treated as part of the staff, mentored with patience and professionalism, and given authentic responsibilities. This partnership truly reflects a shared commitment to excellence and to cultivating Bermuda’s future achievers.”
