Yachts Continue Finishing Newport Race
Additional boats have crossed the finish line of the 2026 Newport Bermuda Yacht race, and dozens more are expected to finish this week.
A spokesperson said, “Hamilton Harbour began to fill in Monday as the largest and fastest boats of the fleet finished the 2026 Newport Bermuda Race. Sunday afternoon and evening saw the arrival of Space Monkey, Denali4, OC86, and Il Mostro. As the sun came up over St. David’s Lighthouse, Interlodge VIII and Boudicca crossed the finish line. Four additional boats finished or are projected to finish before the clock strikes midnight.
“Light wind south of the Gulf Stream held up a large pack of the fleet between 125 and 175 nautical miles from the finish line early Monday. However, around noon the wind filled and the pack began to point their bows towards Bermuda. Tuesday will see a veritable parade of boats at the finish line, and the docks at RBYC will begin to come alive with celebrations and libations.”
