Appleby Welcomes New And Returning Interns

Appleby Bermuda and Appleby Global Services welcomed Chloe Brookes, Hannah Stockley, Markalah Telemaque, Jeremias Pietila, Cameron Menzies, and Yasmine Tull to its 2026 summer internship programmes, with three returning interns also joining the firm for special projects.

A spokesperson said, “Appleby Bermuda welcomes three legal interns to its rotational summer internship programme, and three interns to Appleby Global Services [AGS], Appleby’s corporate and fiduciary service provider. The six students’ 8-week internship is from 17 June – 14 August. Appleby will also welcome back three interns in the coming weeks who are past participants of the 8-week programme.

“The Appleby interns are Chloe Brookes, Hannah Stockley and Markalah Telemaque. The AGS interns are Jeremias Pietila, Cameron Menzies and Yasmine Tull.

“The returning Appleby interns are Ashley Attride-Stirling, Thomas Evans and Louis Hammond who will be participating in a special project within the Corporate and Insurance teams.

“Appleby’s summer internship programme for students interested in a career in law, includes departmental rotation every 2 weeks with an assigned lawyer as a mentor, and the inclusion of case studies, assignments and presentations. The departments include Corporate, Insurance and Dispute Resolution. Interns will also be involved in a unique final presentation which will be evaluated by members of our mentoring committee.

“The AGS summer internship programme includes a dedicated mentor with exposure to different departments, providing an opportunity for students to learn various aspects of the business, including corporate administration, compliance and onboarding. They will also gain a deeper understanding of the role of corporate secretaries, who play a central part in promoting good governance, maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting the smooth and effective operation of companies.”

“Appleby 8-week internship programme:

  • Chloe Brookes, recently completed her GDL at University of Law and will be commencing the SQE;
  • Hannah Stockley, is completing a Bachelors of Arts in English at University of Exeter. Hannah plans on pursuing legal studies upon completion of her degree;
  • Markalah Telemaque, is completing a dual degree in Political Science and Spanish Translation with a minor in Legal Studies at Andrews University. Markalah plans on pursuing legal studies upon completion of her degree.

“Appleby returning interns:

  • Ashley Attride-Stirling, recently completed her LLB at Lancaster University and will be commencing the SQE. Ashley also interned with the firm last summer;
  • Thomas Evans, is completing his SQE at University of Law. Thomas also interned with the firm last summer and in 2023. He is a 2022, 2023 and 2025 Legal Education Bursary recipient;
  • Louis Hammond, recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in History at Durham University and will be commencing his PGDL at the University of Law. Louis also interned with the firm for the past two summers and last winter.

“AGS 8-week internship programme:

  • Jeremias Pietila, is completing an LLB with Business at University of Exeter. Jeremias also interned with Appleby in 2023;
  • Cameron Menzies, is completing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Law Option at Wilfrid Laurier University;
  • Yasmine Tull, is completing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management at Andrews University. Yasmine also interned with AGS last summer and winter.”
