Bermuda Teams Open Squash Event In Tortola
Bermuda opened the team competition at the 2026 Junior Caribbean Squash Championships in Tortola with an opening-day draw and two defeats.
Competing at the Tortola Sports Club in the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda’s boys’ team lost to the Cayman Islands before drawing with Trinidad & Tobago, while the girls’ team was defeated by Barbados.
The Bermuda boys opened with an 8-4 loss to the Cayman Islands.
In the under-11 division, Remy Horsefall lost in straight games to Alexander La-Roda Thomas. Under-13 Caribbean champion Mason Smith and silver medalist Benjamin Sherratt responded with straight-game victories in their matches.
The Cayman Islands secured the tie through victories in the older age groups. Owen Rosorea lost to Adriano Vera in the under-17 division, while under-19 top seed Eli Carpol and William Frith were defeated in straight games by Charlie Makin and Maximillian Woolf, respectively.
Bermuda rebounded in its second match with a 6-6 draw against Trinidad & Tobago.
Sherratt won 11-3, 11-3, 11-0, while Smith recorded an 11-4, 11-7, 11-6 victory. Trinidad & Tobago claimed wins in the under-11 and under-17 divisions before Carpol defeated Matteo Felician 11-3, 11-8, 11-4 in the under-19 match to secure the draw.
The Bermuda girls were defeated 12-0 by Barbados.
On court, Aleisha Siddiqi and Taylor Kyme lost their matches, while Mckenna Kyme was defeated by Lenna Hamati in the under-17 division after losing a second-game tiebreak. In the final match of the tie, Rose Paulos lost in straight games to Thalia Knight.
