Clarien Bank has announced the promotion of Melissa Buckley Pridham to SVP, Head of Personal and Private Banking, effective 1 July 2026.
A spokesperson said, “In her new role, Melissa will lead Clarien’s Banking division, with responsibility for Personal Banking, Lending and Private Banking. She will report to Simon Van de Weg, Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer.
“The appointment forms part of a broader evolution of Clarien’s Banking and Wealth Management businesses as the Bank continues to strengthen its client offering and support future growth in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.
“Melissa joined Clarien in 2015 and has spent more than a decade helping shape the Bank’s banking business. Most recently, as Vice President, Head of Personal Banking, she has led the Personal Banking and Lending teams, overseen key client relationships and played an important role in the continued development of Clarien’s banking proposition.”
Simon Van de Weg said: “Melissa has played a key role in the growth of our Banking business over many years and has built strong relationships with both clients and colleagues along the way. She is a thoughtful and trusted leader who brings a deep understanding of our business and a genuine commitment to delivering for clients. I look forward to working with her in this expanded role as we continue to build on the strong foundation already in place.”
A spokesperson added, “The new structure brings together Clarien’s personal, affluent and private banking businesses under a single leader, enabling the Bank to continue delivering differentiated banking services while strengthening collaboration with its wealth management and investment teams.
“As part of the organisational changes, Chief Wealth Management Officer Miguel DaPonte will dedicate increased focus to the continued growth of Clarien’s Wealth Management and Investments businesses in both Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. This includes supporting the expansion of Clarien Bank and Investments Limited in the Cayman Islands and further developing the Group’s investment, advisory and wealth management capabilities across both jurisdictions.”
Miguel DaPonte said: “With the continued growth of our Wealth Management and Investments businesses, this is the right time to sharpen our focus. These changes create clear accountability across both Banking and Wealth Management and position us well for the next phase of growth in Bermuda and Cayman.”
Melissa Buckley Pridham said: “I am excited to take on this new role and grateful for the opportunities I have had at Clarien over the past 11 years. I look forward to working with our teams across the Bank as we continue to support our clients and build on the momentum we have across the business.”
