On Friday [July 17], Minister of the Cabinet Office Rev. Emily-Gail Dill visited the Youth Library Summer Camp at the Florence Webb Maxwell Youth Library, where she met with campers and staff and learned more about the programme’s activities.

Running from 29 June to 29 July, the camp welcomes boys and girls aged seven to ten and offers a month of engaging experiences. Activities include cooking, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, field trips, karaoke, storytelling, games and other creative pursuits.

Minister Dill said, “The Youth Library Summer Camp provides children with a wonderful opportunity to stay active, build confidence and explore their creativity in a welcoming environment. It was a pleasure to see the enthusiasm of the campers and the dedication of the staff, whose efforts help make the programme both enjoyable and enriching for our young people throughout the summer. I was especially impressed with the team’s intentionality in integrating STEM into the programming both in the Summer Camp and the overall Library experience.”

A Government spokesperson added, “The Minister also thanked the organisers and library staff for their commitment to providing a well-rounded programme that encourages learning, creativity and social development outside the classroom. The Youth Library Summer Camp continues to offer a safe and engaging space where Bermuda’s young people can develop new skills, form lasting friendships and enjoy a rewarding summer experience.”
