Anthasia Campbell Reaches Pageant Semis
Bermudian Anthasia Campbell has reached the semi-finals of the Miss England pageant after competing in the East Midlands regional competition in Leicester at the weekend, and she also claimed the Top Fundraiser and Talent awards.
The event featured an ethical fashion round and brought together contestants from Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and towns across the East Midlands.
Held at The Pumping Station in Cropston, the competition included rounds celebrating confidence, personality and purpose.
Ms Campbell won the charity and talent round and said organisers invited her to progress to the semi-finals, which will be held in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, in October.
“I was chosen as a Miss East Midlands finalist just over three weeks ago,” Ms Campbell told Bernews.
“I spent those three weeks fundraising and raised £642.54 through a cake sale and raffle, which earned me the Top Fundraiser crown among the contestants.
“I also submitted a cheerleading talent video, which earned me the Talent crown.
“Although I didn’t win the Miss East Midlands title, I was approached after the crowning by Miss England and one of the judges, who said they were impressed with my talent and offered me a place in the Miss England semi-finals.”
Ms Campbell said she will spend the next three months preparing for the semi-finals.
