63-Year-Old Woman Dies Following Collision
The police have confirmed the death of a 63-year-old woman following a collision.
A police spokesperson said, “Sadly, the Bermuda Police Service [BPS] can now confirm Bermuda’s thirteenth road fatality of 2026.
“Around 1pm Tuesday, 11th August 2026, a female visitor, understood to be a 63-year-old American woman, riding a rental scooter west along Middle Road, Southampton – near the junction with Industrial Park Road – collided with a car driven in the opposite direction and was seriously injured.
“Police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, as well as ambulance personnel responded.
“Despite care at the scene and being rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, she was later pronounced dead by an on call doctor at the hospital.
“A BPS Family Liaison Officer is currently assisting her next of kin, while an investigation regarding the circumstances of this fatal collision is ongoing.
