Allen Temple Church To Host Women’s Event

Allen Temple AME Church invites women throughout the community to “experience an inspiring evening of faith, fellowship, creativity and transformation” at their ‘Speak Life: From Pieces to Purpose’ event which will be held this evening [Aug 19] at 6:30 p.m. at Allen Temple Church Hall in Sandys.

A spokesperson said, “The event is part of Allen Temple’s 2026 Women’s Season, celebrated under the theme: Women of God: Prophesying, Proclaiming and Prevailing”

Scripture: Ezekiel 37:4–6

“Inspired by Ezekiel’s vision of the valley of dry bones, Speak Life: From Pieces to Purpose will encourage women to discover new possibilities in things that may appear ordinary, forgotten, disconnected or no longer useful.

“In Ezekiel 37, the prophet is instructed by God to speak to a valley filled with dry bones. As the Word of God is proclaimed, the scattered bones begin to come together and are prepared to receive new life. That powerful image provides the foundation for an evening centered on the message that God can bring purpose, beauty and new life out of what may appear to be only pieces.

Creativity, Faith and Transformation

“Participants will enjoy a hands-on crafting experience led by Creativity Coach Sis. Morgan Donawa, who will inspire and guide participants as they transform everyday and repurposed materials into unique creations.

“Women will have opportunities to create, transform and reimagine through activities including embellishing baseball caps with rhinestones, brooches and decorative elements; repurposing old jewelry into one-of-a-kind statement necklaces; and transforming traditional neckties into beautiful pieces of wearable art.

“The evening will also incorporate moments of spiritual reflection, music, fellowship and declarations of faith, reminding participants that creativity can be an expression of the transforming work of God.

“A special emphasis will be placed on seeing beyond what is presently before us and believing God for what can be. Participants will be challenged to speak life over their families, dreams, circumstances, communities and futures as Women of God who are called to prophesy, proclaim and prevail.

“The 2026 Women’s Season is held under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Rev. Howard H.L. Dill, with Women’s Season Advisor Rev. Dr. Emilygail Dill, JP, MP; Women’s Season Chair Sis. Laverne Showers; and Women’s Season Co-Chair Sis. Valerie Wade.

“A Love Gift of $20 is suggested.

“Allen Temple AME Church warmly invites women of all ages to come ready to create, connect, fellowship and be encouraged. Participants are welcome to bring old jewelry, neckties, brooches, buttons, beads and other items they would like to see transformed and given new purpose.
