Video: Geraldine Sidders Finishes Fourth
[Updated with video] Geraldine Sidders finished fourth in the Jianshu [straight sword] at the Canadian Wushu National Championships in Waterloo, Ontario, at the weekend.
Sidders, who represents the Bermuda Sanshou Associatiomn, narrowly missed a podium place after scoring 8.223.
She also placed sixth in the Changquan [longfist] with a score of 7.3.
The championships were held from July 31 to August 2 as part of the Ontario Summer Games and National Wushu Festival.
Bermuda coaches Kaelin Cox and Jecoa Burrows attended the championships and remain in Canada to continue training before the Pan American Wushu Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October.
Bermuda team manager and international sanda judge Nolette Webb officiated 125 sanda bouts during the three-day championships.
