Bermuda College Signs Agreement With Hartpury
Bermuda College has signed a new agreement with Hartpury University and Hartpury College in the UK, giving students “another affordable route to continue their studies overseas.”
A spokesperson said, “A new agreement will give Bermuda College students another affordable route to continue their studies overseas.
“The College has signed an agreement with the UK’s Hartpury University and Hartpury College – named recently as Specialist University of the Year in a prestigious guide.
“The agreement further strengthens Bermuda College’s growing network of more than 40 articulation and progression partnerships with colleges and universities around the world.
“The partnerships are designed to help students begin their higher education in Bermuda, reduce the cost of overseas study and move more confidently into bachelor’s degree programmes abroad.
“Under the Hartpury pathway, eligible students can complete the first two years of their studies at the College before progressing to Hartpury with the opportunity for progression into Year 2 of a three-year bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration, subject to programme requirements and admissions approval.
“The “2+2” model significantly reduces the overall cost of a degree by allowing students to complete the early stages of their studies at Bermuda College before transferring overseas.
“The agreement also offers Bermuda College students the opportunity to progress to Year 1 of a bachelor’s degree programme in Sports and Exercise Science, Sports and Exercise Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning and Sports Therapy via Bermuda College’s Foundation Diploma Programme.
“Students would need to complete the full two-semester curriculum of College classes specific to those pathways to secure the one-year qualification before being considered for the bachelor’s degree progression.
“It also gives students more time to prepare academically, financially and personally before making the move abroad.
“Hartpury, in Gloucestershire, is recognised for specialist programmes in sport, business, agriculture, animal, equine, veterinary nursing and biological sciences.
“Its campus includes major sports, equine, animal and agri-tech facilities, including nine competitive sports academies and more than £10 million recently invested in Sports Academy facilities.
“Lyndon Jackson, Director of the Counselling and Career Centre at Bermuda College, who helped coordinate the agreement, said it created a valuable new option for students, particularly those interested in sport, exercise science, coaching, nutrition, business and related careers.”
“This is an exciting step because it gives our students a clearer, more affordable pathway into areas where Hartpury has real strength,” Mr Jackson said.
“Students can start at Bermuda College, build a strong academic foundation and then transition to the UK with a defined route in front of them.
“That matters for families who are thinking carefully about cost, but it also matters for students who want confidence that their Bermuda College qualification can take them further.”
A spokesperson added, “Bermuda College President Dr David Sam praised the work of Dr Constance Ridley Smith, the College’s coordinator of External Programmes and Agreements, for her work in bringing about the partnership.
“He also highlighted the work done by Mr Jackson, whose overall experience with institutions in the UK proved vital.”
“It was their sheer perseverance and a recent on-site visit to Hartpury that helped to seal the deal and bring this long-awaited project to fruition.”
A spokesperson added, “Hartpury University and Hartpury College have 4,600 students from more than 60 countries.
“Hartpury College is rated Ofsted Outstanding for academic and curriculum-related provision, and Hartpury University was named Specialist University of the Year by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide for 2026.”
