Bermuda Golfers Start Competing In Bahamas
Bermuda’s men’s team finished the opening round of the 69th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in a three-way tie for the lead at one-under-par.
Competing at Royal Blue Golf Course in Nassau, Bahamas, Bermuda ended the first day play level with the Cayman Islands and Trinidad & Tobago at the top of the men’s team standings. Bermuda’s women’s team finished the opening round in fifth place at 24-over-par.
Eric West led Bermuda’s men with a three-under-par 69, leaving him fourth in the individual gross standings.
Oliver Betschart was sixth after carding a one-under-par 71, while Dylan Muso shot an even-par 72 to share tenth place.
Will Haddrell finished the round in 22nd place after shooting a three-over-par 75, with Mikus Ming 31st following a six-over-par 78.
Sienna Mosquera led Bermuda in the Ladies Best Gross Division, finishing the opening round in 11th place after carding an 11-over-par 83.
Darina Betschart was 12th after shooting an 85, Tracy Burgess finished the day in 16th following an 87, and Morgan Lightbourne was 24th after recording a 93.
