Bermuda In Second At Caribbean Golf Event
After 36 holes of the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship, Bermuda sits second overall and within striking distance of Puerto Rico heading into the tournament’s final rounds.
A spokesperson said, “After the first 36 holes of the 2026 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship [CAGC], the Bermuda Golf Association team sits in second place in the overall team category, just four points behind Puerto Rico. Having jumped out to an early lead following round one at The Royal Blue Golf Course in Nassau, Bahamas, Team Bermuda now find themselves four points adrift of regional powerhouse Puerto Rico heading into the closing rounds.
“The CAGC is the Caribbean’s premier amateur golf event and features Team scores and individual standings. The points are awarded per championship [men's and women's each scored separately], and those points are then combined for the overall country total.
“The two team competitions.
- “Men – Hoerman Cup: up to six male golfers per country; the lowest four of six scores count each day.
- “Women – George Teale Memorial Trophy: four female golfers per country; the lowest two of four count each day.
“The overall points – Arthur Ziadie Trophy. This goes to the country accumulating the most points across both championships. Each day, within each championship, teams earn points based on the daily ranking of their aggregate counting scores:
- “1st place: points equal to the number of teams competing, plus one
- “2nd place: two points less than the leader
- “3rd place: three points less than the leader
- “4th place: four points less than the leader
- “…and so on down to the last team, which gets 1 point
Men’s Team
“The Men’s Team is currently led by Dylan Muso, who sits in second place overall in the individual standings. Muso has posted a two-round total of four under par, highlighted by a stellar second-round four-under-par 68 that included a 60-yard hole-out for eagle. Eric West holds third place in the individual Men’s division, following his opening-round three-under 69 with a steady even-par 72 in round 2. Across the first two rounds, the remaining team scores have been supported by Oliver Betschart, Mikus Ming, Will Haddrell and Arman Netwon.
Women’s Team
“In the Women’s Team, Sienna Mosquera and Darina Betschart have put together two rounds of solid play. Both players improved on their opening scores in round two, catapulting the Women’s Team to the second-place points on day two. Mosquera posted a 77 and lies in eighth place overall, while Betschart carded a 79 to sit in eleventh. Overall in the Women’s team event, Bermuda sit in fifth place, just two shots from third. Teammates Tracy Burgess and Morgan Lightbourne have continued to show consitency and improvement over the first two rounds.
