Mia Fishel Scores In Seattle Reign’s Victory
Mia Fishel scored her second goal for Seattle Reign FC as they earned a 3-2 victory away to Bay FC in the National Women’s Soccer League [NWSL] on Saturday [August 1].
Fishel, whose father Patrick is Bermudian, opened the scoring in the fifth minute at PayPal Park in San Jose.
Maddie Dahlien advanced down the left side before delivering a cross into the box, where Fishel controlled the ball and finished past the goalkeeper.
The goal was Fishel’s first from open play for Seattle, having scored her first NWSL goal from the penalty spot against Gotham FC last month.
Dahlien doubled Seattle’s advantage in the tenth minute with her second goal of the season before Hannah Bebar reduced the deficit for Bay FC three minutes later.
Keira Barry equalised for the home side in the 75th minute, but substitute Jess Fishlock scored the winning goal in the 85th minute, shortly after entering the match.
