Bermuda Scenes To Transform Dinner Tables
Bermuda will provide the inspiration — and thanks to projection mapping technology the tabletop itself will be the canvas — as the City hosts the ‘Tabletop Theatre’ event next month, with custom-created Bermuda themed animations transforming the surface around guests as they dine.

Following the initial announcement, Bernews asked for additional information about the tabletop theater event, And a spokesperson said, “To give you a little more context without giving away too many of the surprises, the experience will essentially take guests on a visual journey through a year in Bermuda, with each of the four courses representing a different season.
“Using projection mapping technology, the tabletop itself becomes the canvas, with custom-created animations transforming the surface around guests as they dine. The imagery has been designed specifically around Bermuda, drawing inspiration from some of the colours, landscapes, traditions and natural elements associated with the island throughout the year. Guests might find their table transformed by everything from Bermuda’s spring blooms and colourful kites to turquoise waters and reef life, before the atmosphere gradually changes as the evening progresses.
“Each Course Will Have Its Own Distinct Visual Identity”
“Each course will have its own distinct visual identity and a special animated sequence, followed by atmospheric imagery that continues to move subtly across the table while guests enjoy their food. The effect is designed to make the tabletop feel alive throughout the entire dinner, rather than simply projecting a static image or video in front of diners. By the final course, guests will have travelled visually from the bright colours of a Bermuda spring day through to the island after dark.
“The technology and custom animation for the experience are being created by Las Vegas-based Lumen & Forge, specialists in immersive technology, projection mapping and visual storytelling with more than 15 years of industry experience. Their portfolio includes projects for major international brands and events, including Nike and Air Jordan during NBA All-Star Weekend, McLaren and Mastercard during Formula 1, Toyota, The Venetian and immersive dining installations in Las Vegas.
“Complimentary Wine Pairings To Accompany The Meal”
“The menu, meanwhile, has been expertly curated by Island Restaurant Group, with the culinary experience and visual storytelling designed to complement one another throughout the evening. Discovery Wines will also provide complimentary wine pairings to accompany the meal, adding another layer to the overall dining experience.
“For guests attending the late seating, the experience will continue beyond the final course with an afterparty, giving diners the opportunity to extend their evening after Tabletop Theatre concludes.
“Part of what we aim to do with Taste of Bermuda each year is stay ahead of emerging event and culinary trends and introduce experiences that people may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy here at home. The City prides itself on bringing fresh, innovative concepts to the island, and Tabletop Theatre is a great example of that — taking an immersive dining trend that has gained attention internationally and creating an experience that is distinctly Bermudian.

“There are plenty of surprises within each of the four scenes that we’re deliberately keeping under wraps — we want guests to experience those transformations for the first time when they’re sitting at the table!
