BJAR Seeks Peer Reviewers For Second Edition
The Bermuda Journal of Academic Research [BJAR] is “inviting scholars and professionals to serve as peer reviewers for its second edition, with expertise sought in economics, English literature, psychology and law,” with applications closing on October 15th, 2026.
A spokesperson said, “BJAR published its first edition in March 2026, featuring research by Bermudian authors studying at universities including Oxford, Durham, King’s College London and Exeter. Subjects ranged from cannabis prohibition and racial equality in Bermuda, to sovereign debt in Zambia and the economic costs of trade conflicts. Edition 1 is open access and can be read in full at bermudajournal.org.
“Peer reviewers assess submissions for rigour, originality and clarity, and provide constructive feedback to authors before publication. Reviewers typically take on one to three manuscripts, with reviews running through November and December.”

“Peer review is what gives published research its credibility,” said Kyaida Lanthier, Co-Chief Editor. “We are looking for people who care about the quality and integrity of research coming out of Bermuda and who want to play a meaningful role in shaping its future.”
A spokesperson added, “The journal operates a hybrid model, publishing both peer-reviewed submissions and work by emerging scholars, which is reviewed and edited by the editorial team. The approach is intended to uphold academic rigour while creating a route into publication for those early in their careers.
“Reviewers need not hold an academic post. BJAR welcomes expertise gained through advanced qualifications, professional experience or prior scholarly work, and reviewers may be based in Bermuda or overseas.

“BJAR is also accepting research submissions for its second edition, with the same closing date of 15 October 2026. Submissions are welcome across all disciplines, including the natural sciences, and from researchers at every stage, from established academics to students and recent graduates. Dissertations and theses already completed as part of a degree are eligible.
