Eight Students Earn Devonshire Scholarships
The Devonshire Parish Council has awarded scholarships to eight students — Sarine Babb, Shayla Robinson, Riley Hall, Kyii Simons-Henry, TeAra Douglas, Eva Trott, Jhazii Johnson and Simeon Hayward — for the 2026/27 academic year.
A spokesperson said, “The Devonshire Parish Council is delighted to announce the recipients of its annual scholarship program for the Academic Year 2026/27. The Devonshire Parish Council Scholarship aims to empower and support outstanding individuals in their pursuit of higher education and foster a brighter future for our community.
“After careful consideration of numerous exceptional applicants, the Devonshire Parish Council is proud to award the scholarship to 8 deserving students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and achievements in their academic pursuits and have shown a deep commitment to making a positive impact in our community:
- Sarine Babb- Post Graduate Certificate in Law
- Shayla Robinson- BSc of Science [Finance and Economics]
- Riley Hall- BSc of Education
- Kyii Simons-Henry- BSc of Biology
- TeAra Douglas- MSc of Science [Mathematics Education]
- Eva Trott- BSc Interior Design
- Jhazii Johnson- MSc Information Technology
- Simeon Hayward- BSc Information Technology
“This year’s Devonshire Parish Council Scholarship recipients have been awarded financial assistance to support them as they pursue their educational goals and continue building toward their future careers. The Council remains committed to investing in Devonshire’s young people and helping to provide opportunities that encourage academic achievement, personal development, and future success.
“In addition to receiving financial support, scholarship recipients will be encouraged to remain connected with the Devonshire community through Council-led initiatives, community events, and networking opportunities. These experiences are intended to strengthen their connection to the parish while providing opportunities to build relationships, develop professionally, and give back to the community that has supported them.”
“We are extremely proud of this year’s scholarship recipients and all that they have accomplished,” said Zoe Smith, Chairperson of the Devonshire Parish Council Scholarship Committee. “Each recipient demonstrated ambition, determination, and a genuine desire to make something meaningful of the opportunities ahead of them. This year is particularly significant for the Devonshire Parish Council, as we are proud to recognize our largest group of scholarship recipients to date, with eight deserving students receiving awards. This milestone reflects our continued commitment to expanding educational opportunities and investing in the young people of our parish. Through our scholarship programme, we are proud to invest not only in their education, but ultimately in the future of our community. We look forward to watching each of our recipients continue to grow, achieve their goals, and make meaningful contributions to Bermuda.”
