Golf: Leseur Leads Championship Local Qualifier
Kenny Leseur shot an even-par 71 to take a two-stroke lead after the opening round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship Local Qualifier at Port Royal Golf Course on Tuesday [September 8].
Leseur’s round included five birdies, nine pars, three bogeys and a double bogey. He completed the front nine in 35 and the back nine in 36 to finish alone at the top of the leaderboard.
Nick Jones and Christian Collins were tied for second after both carded two-over-par rounds of 73.
The Local Qualifier is being held on September 8 and 9 at the Port Royal Golf Course. The top 2 finishers of the Local Qualifier will earn an exemption into the 2026 Butterfield Bermuda Championship field, joining an elite lineup of PGA TOUR professionals from around the world, and the third-place finisher will earn an exemption into the 2027 Butterfield Bermuda Championship field.
