Health Ministry Advises Of Food Recall
The Ministry of Health is advising of an “urgent food recall affecting two products sold in Bermuda,” with Waitrose Essential Unsweetened Oat Drink [1 litre] and MOMA Porridge and Cereal Products both being recalled.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Health is advising the public of an urgent food recall affecting two products sold in Bermuda. This action follows notification from the Department of Health’s Environmental Health Service regarding confirmed contamination risks that may pose a threat to consumer safety.
Products Under Recall
- “Waitrose Essential Unsweetened Oat Drink [1 litre] Best Before dates: 14 August – 29 October 2026. This product is being recalled due to microbiological contamination and spoilage, which may cause the drink to appear off‑colour, off‑odour, or unsafe for consumption.
- “All MOMA Porridge and Cereal Products Best Before dates: 24 April 2026 – 12 March 2027. These items are being recalled due to potential contamination by mice, which presents a serious food‑safety hazard.
“Consumers who have purchased any of the affected products are advised not to consume them. Instead, the Ministry recommends that individuals:
- Package the items securely; and
- Return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
“Retailers have been instructed to remove all affected stock from shelves immediately.
“The Ministry of Health continues to monitor the situation closely and is working with importers and retailers to ensure that contaminated products are removed from circulation. Food safety remains a top priority, and the Ministry will provide updates should additional information become available.
