Motorcyclist Arrested For Dangerous Driving
A motorcyclist who “sped off” after a police stop on St David’s Road and “rode west in a dangerous manner, overtaking vehicles at high speed, before being intercepted” in Smith’s was arrested, and checks showed that he was already disqualified from driving.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 4:15 p.m. yesterday, Thursday, September 10, 2026, police officers on mobile patrol, along St. David’s Road, St. George’s, had cause to stop a motorcycle, in relation to a traffic matter.
“Whilst speaking with the rider, the officers observed that the bike’s license plate expiration was altered.
“As they informed the rider of their observation, he sped off. The subject rode west in a dangerous manner, overtaking vehicles at high speed, before being intercepted on St. Mark’s Road near its junction with South Road, Smith’s.
“Checks showed he was disqualified from driving all vehicles until 2027. He was subsequently arrested for dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified. He will soon appear before the courts.
“Meanwhile, also yesterday, total of 87 tickets for were issued for various traffic offences.
