Don Treanor Wins Medal In Colorado Springs
Local fencer Don Treanor claimed a medal in the sabre at the Air Force Regional Open Circuit at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
Treanor finished seventh in the sabre, which earned him a medal. and eighth in the Epée.
“I knew I would have trouble with the altitude but also knew it would be good training and stress tests for improving conditioning,” Treanor said.
“At least I did bring home some hardware.
“[In the] Epée, there were five out of the 20 competitors on veteran world teams.
“I finished the pools 4-2 but didn’t have anything left because of the altitude.
“Overall was a good warm-up/stress training for the Veteran Fencing World Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia, in October.”
