Somersfield To Host Montessori Open House
Somersfield Academy will host its Montessori Open House on September 17, giving “”families an opportunity to explore Somersfield’s Montessori philosophy and curriculum.”
A spokesperson said, “Somersfield Academy is delighted to invite families to a Journey of Discovery, during its upcoming Montessori Open House, taking place on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 5:45 pm.
“The evening will give families an opportunity to explore Somersfield’s Montessori philosophy and curriculum and discover why beginning a child’s formal education at age three can provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Children are eligible to join Children’s House in the September of the year they turn three.
“Parents attending can expect a guided tour through Children’s House [ages 3–6] which continues into Lower Primary [P2–P4]. Parents will have the opportunity to explore our Montessori classrooms, engage with the learning materials and speak with Montessori trained teachers about the approach and its impact on children’s development.”
“The early years are where children begin to develop not only academic skills, but also the confidence, independence and curiosity that shape how they approach learning for years to come,” said Janice Outerbridge, Head of Children’s House and Primary at Somersfield Academy. “At our Open House, families can see these principles in action and experience what makes Montessori such a meaningful beginning to a child’s educational journey.”
