Collision On Front Street In City Of Hamilton
[Updated] Police have confirmed a road traffic collision on Front Street in the City of Hamilton near King Street, with traffic being diverted in both directions.
A police spokesperson said, “There has been a road traffic collision on Front Street, City of Hamilton, near King Street. Details remain very limited at this time.
“Due to this collision, traffic exiting the City is being diverted up Court Street and traffic heading into the City is being diverted up Spurling Hill. Any witnesses are encouraged to call 211.
“An update will be provided, when more information is available.”
Update: A police spokesperson said, “The collision scene was cleared around 6:30pm and normal traffic flow in the area has resumed.”
Update Sept 16: A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:50pm Tuesday, 15th September 2026, a reported two-vehicle collision occurred along Front Street, City of Hamilton, near King Street.
“Police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, as well as ambulance personnel responded.
“It appears that a car driver was exiting a Front Street building’s parking garage, intending to travel east along Front Street, when the collision occurred with a motorcyclist, travelling in the westbound lane of Front Street.
“Apparently, the westbound motorcycle then struck an unoccupied, parked motorcycle across the street.
“The rider of the westbound motorcycle, understood to be a 19-year-old Warwick man and his pillion passenger, understood to be an 18-year-old Devonshire man, were both hurt.
“They were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, for medical care.
“At last check, the younger teen remained hospitalised with a leg injury, while the older teen had been treated and discharged.
“The car driver, understood to be a 51-year-old Paget woman, was not hurt.
“The car and motorcycle directly involved in the collision were damaged.
“The parked motorcycle was also damaged.
“Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately two and a half hours, while the scene was processed.
“As a result, many motorists in the City of Hamilton during that time, experienced delays in their commute home.
“Inquiries continue regarding this collision and any additional witnesses are encouraged to call Constable Silvia Zbinova on 211, or e-mail szbinova@bps.bm.”

This is one spot that will continue to have accidents until they learn that they MUST turn left at all times. Going against flow of traffic during peak times is crazy.
The Road Safety Council need to get involved in this and stop the Police from allowing this to occur.
