Alandra Swan To Host Educator Wellness Retreat
Alandra Swan will host a luxury day retreat for educators in Bermuda on October 24, which will “offer educators and school leaders a thoughtfully curated day of restoration, personal reflection, meaningful connection, and leadership development.”
A spokesperson said, “Seven years after organizing Bermuda’s first Teacher Wellness Retreat, award-winning educator and PinkSands Education founder Alandra Swan is returning to a vision she believes is more important today than ever: creating intentional spaces where educators are cared for, supported, and encouraged to invest in themselves.
“On Saturday, October 24, 2026, PinkSands Education will host Come Back to Yourself — A Luxury Day Retreat for Educators at The Retreat House in Southampton, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“Held under the wellness and leadership brand Nourish. Restore. Lead., the retreat will offer educators and school leaders a thoughtfully curated day of restoration, personal reflection, meaningful connection, and leadership development.”
“We spend so much time talking about what our educators need to do, what they need to improve, and what they need to deliver. But how often do we stop and ask what our educators themselves need?” Ms. Swan said.
“Teachers are constantly pouring into others. They nurture, encourage, guide, and lead. Yet there are very few spaces intentionally designed for them to simply receive.”
A Vision Seven Years in the Making
A spokesperson added, “In August 2019, following her recognition as the Bermuda Education Network’s Outstanding Teacher of the Year, Ms. Swan partnered with the organization to organize Bermuda’s first Teacher Wellness Retreat at Grotto Bay Beach Resort.
“The two-day experience combined professional development with mindfulness, restorative wellness activities, and opportunities for educators to connect beyond their everyday responsibilities.
“Seven years later, Ms. Swan is building on that vision through PinkSands Education, challenging the traditional separation between professional development and personal well-being.”
“We cannot continue to invest in what educators do without also investing in who they are,” she explained.
“An educator does not become a different person when they walk through the school gates. If we want thriving classrooms and healthy school communities, we must also care about the well-being of the people leading them.”
A spokesperson added, “This philosophy is central to PinkSands Education’s emerging Whole Educator Framework, which recognizes the connection between an educator’s personal well-being, professional identity, relationships, and leadership development.
