Bermudian Juniors Compete In Miami Tennis
Three of Bermuda’s talented junior tennis players — Lee Terceira , Tristan Thompson and Rylie Maybury travelled to Miami to compete in a qualifier for the US Play off Series Junior Orange Bowl Master Event .
A spokesperson said, “Lee enjoyed an impressive tournament, advancing to the semifinals and securing her place in next weekend’s Masters Qualifier!
“Tristan put in a strong performance against the No. 3 seed, battling hard before going down 2-6, 5-7.
“Rylie also fought hard in his opening match . Both boys moved into the consolation draw …the stage was set for an exciting all-Bermudian final!
“In a thrilling contest, Tristan showed tremendous determination and composure, saving a match point before clinching victory 7-5 in the deciding tiebreak! A fantastic display of resilience and fighting spirit from both players!
“The three juniors will remain in Florida for a few more days of additional training, making the most of this valuable opportunity to gain experience, sharpen their skills and continue their development.
“Congratulations to Lee, Tristan and Rylie! We are incredibly proud of their efforts, sportsmanship and dedication as they continue to represent Bermuda on the international tennis stage.”
