City Announces Reid Street Resurfacing Works
The City of Hamilton “advises motorists, businesses and members of the public that resurfacing works will take place along the parking lanes on both sides of Reid Street, between Burnaby Street and Queen Street, over two consecutive weeks.”
A spokesperson said, “The works will be carried out in two phases, beginning with the northern side of Reid Street on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16, followed by the southern side on Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23.
“During resurfacing works, there will be no parking on either side of Reid Street between Burnaby Street and Queen Street from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on October 15–16 and October 22–23. Traffic will be maintained through the area using the parking lane on the opposite side of the street to the works.
“Following each phase, the newly laid asphalt will need time to cure before vehicles can park on it. As a result, parking will remain prohibited on the northern side of Reid Street through October 19, and on the southern side through October 26.
“Motorists are asked to pay close attention to temporary signage and barriers in the area and to allow additional time when travelling along Reid Street while the works are underway.
“The City of Hamilton thanks motorists, businesses and members of the public for their patience and cooperation while these necessary improvements are carried out.”

Hey COH, how about getting the green wheelie bins off the sidewalks on Reid Street? Persons parking cant let their passengers out because the bins block them, they impede pedestrians and it makes the city look untidy for visitors and locals alike.
