Taylor And Ziai Score In St. Andrew’s Wins
Bermuda’s Jah’Zion Taylor and Heris Ziai were among the scorers as St. Andrew’s College recorded back-to-back victories to maintain their perfect start in CISAA league play in Canada.
The Saints, whose squad also includes Bermudian defender Michael Madeiros, defeated De La Salle College before securing a home victory over St. Michael’s College School.
Against De La Salle, Ziai opened the scoring with an 18th-minute free kick. Duncan Ramon added a second just before halftime, converting a pass from Jackson Mahoney for his first goal with the first team.
Dylan Mahoney scored a nine-minute hat-trick in the second half before setting up Gabe Covello to complete the 6–1 victory.
Returning to Yuill Field two days later, St. Andrew’s overcame the absence of five senior starters. Alex Wang and Taylor scored within the opening 25 minutes, while Santiago Bracamontes Lance added two goals.
Goalkeepers Raistlan Evans and Joseph Corsetti shared duties in both victories, with Corsetti making a diving save from a free kick to preserve the clean sheet against St. Michael’s.
The results left the Saints top of the CISAA table with three wins from three league matches.
