Spirit Of Bermuda Pays Tribute To Victims
Returning home from New England to Bermuda, Spirit of Bermuda crossed the air ambulance’s flight path and lowered the Bermuda and Canadian flags to half-mast in memory of the six lives lost.
A spokesperson said, “Pilot Warden Mario Thompson led a moving vigil aboard Spirit of Bermuda on Wednesday in memory of the six lives lost in the tragic crash of the Heartbeat 104 air ambulance.
“The Spirit of Bermuda is currently on a return voyage home after an extensive maintenance period in New England and the vessel crossed the flight path the aircraft had taken between Bermuda and Boston, the crew members of the ship lowered the Bermuda and Canadian flags to half-mast in a solemn act of respect.
“In a quiet moment of reflection, Thompson, together with the vessel’s crew and offered prayers for the two Bermudians and four Canadian crew members who perished in the accident.
“The vigil provided an opportunity to honor those who lost their lives while carrying out a mission of compassion and care, and reflected Bermuda’s collective grief and solidarity with the families, friends, and communities affected by the tragedy.”
