Sachiel Ming Records Assist In Syracuse Draw
Bermudian footballer Sachiel Ming provided an assist as Syracuse University came from behind to draw 1–1 with tenth-ranked Pittsburgh at SU Soccer Stadium on Friday [October 2].
Ming started the Atlantic Coast Conference [ACC] match and played 79 minutes, recording two shots and an assist.
Pittsburgh took the lead in the 13th minute through Albert Thorsen, with Anders Bordoy credited with the assist.
The visitors were reduced to ten men in the 41st minute when Logan Oliver received his second yellow card, but retained their 1–0 advantage heading into half-time.
Syracuse increased their attacking output after the interval, recording 15 second-half shots. The hosts finished with a 21–8 advantage in shots and six corners to Pittsburgh’s three, with all six Syracuse corners coming after the break.
Substitute Pedro Gulli entered the match in the 71st minute and equalised seven minutes later, heading home a cross from Chimere Omeze.
Ming and Omeze were both credited with assists on the goal, which was Gulli’s fourth of the season.
Pittsburgh continued to threaten despite playing with ten men, with Syracuse goalkeeper Juan Martinez-Bastidas making three saves in the final ten minutes. He finished with four saves as the teams shared the points.
