Signing Event To Support Sargasso Sea
Members of the public are invited to add their names and handprints to the Bermudian High Seas Legacy Declaration during a three day period at City Hall in Hamilton from October 21 to 23.
The Handprints for the High Seas initiative will feature a 12-foot by 20-foot declaration, intended to highlight Bermuda’s connection to the Sargasso Sea and public support for protecting the international waters around the island.
Public signing sessions will take place from noon to 6.00pm on Wednesday, October 21 and Thursday, October 22, followed by a final session from noon to 3.00pm on Friday, October 23. The poster lists Pier 6 as the rainy-day location.
Following the final signing session, members of the community are invited to join a procession departing City Hall at 4.00pm on Friday.
Participants will carry the declaration through Hamilton to the Government Administration Building on Parliament Street for its formal delivery to the Government of Bermuda.
