Anthasia Campbell Set For UK Pageant Final
Bermudian Anthasia Campbell is set to compete in the Miss England semi-final at Melton Theatre in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, on Sunday [October 11].
Campbell, 25, impressed at the East Midlands regional competition in Leicester in July, winning the Top Fundraiser and Talent awards. She was subsequently offered a place in the semi-final.
The regional event brought together contestants from Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and towns across the East Midlands.
The semi-final will feature eight rounds: Talent, Ethical Fashion, Beauty with a Purpose/charity, Sports, Photography/photographic appeal, Public vote/People’s Choice, and Local community promotion.
“I just want to go out there and have a good time,” Ms Campbell told Bernews. “I don’t have any expectations.
“I’ve entered every round and need to win at least one to reach the final. Hopefully, that will give me a good chance of reaching the final.
“I’m really excited to meet all the other contestants.”
Around 15 of the 36 contestants are expected to progress to the national final in Leicester on November 17.
“I’ll be paying tribute to Tina Turner in the Ethical Fashion round,” said Ms Campbell. “I’m inspired by her values and how she broke gender and racial biases.”
The contestant receiving the most votes in the People’s Choice route will earn direct entry to the final. Voting closes at 6pm on Sunday.
