Photos & Video: Relief Tug ‘VB Bentayga’ Arrives
The relief tug boat ‘VB Bentayga’ arrived in Bermuda and “entered service immediately,” officials have confirmed.
In response to queries from Bernews, a spokesperson said, “The Department of Marine & Ports Services confirms that relief tug VB Bentayga arrived in Bermuda on October 30 and entered service immediately, assisting in two berthing operations on the morning of October 31.
“Working alongside Tug Powerful, Tug VB Bentayga has restored Bermuda’s two-tug capability, supporting safe berthing and departure for vessels requiring two tugs.
“The Tug Faithful remains out of service following the September 24 fire. Repair costs and the return-to-service timeline remain under assessment. The Department thanks its staff and shipping stakeholders for their cooperation.”
