February Retail Sales Fall 5.8%

Gross sales revenue from local retailers fell 5.8% to an estimated $70.3 million in February 2011. Retailers of building materials and motor vehicles reported the largest sales decreases, with both sectors experiencing double-digit percentage declines during the month. Catlin: $200 Million Japan Loss Estimate

Catlin Group Limited, the Bermuda-based property/casualty re/insurer, today [Apr. 19] said its losses related to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami will amount to approximately US$200 million, net of reinsurance and reinstatements.
