Murder Arrest: Two Men Bailed And Free

May 7, 2010

Two men have been bailed out following their dramatic arrest in connection with the murder of George Lynch outside Supreme Court yesterday. They have been freed on police bail, and were free to go last night.

The pair, who were represented by Victoria Pearman and Charles Richardson at the initial trial, were arrested immediately after being found not guilty of assault charges. The dramatic scene caused emotions to raise,as their families and friends jubilation at their acquittal, turned to disbelief.

Mr Lynch, a Jamaican national who was married to a Bermudian, was killed by a single shot to the chest while standing outside the home where the witnesses, and family members lived in Midland Heights Crescent, Hamilton Parish the night before the two men were arrested.

He worked at King Edward Hospital as a houseman, His wife Nekesha Holdipp is a teacher at Victor Scott School.

The house where the murder took place was the exact same house that was allegedly attacked during the alleged assault of Temasgan Furbert on February 27, 2009.

The previous day, and same day of Mr Lynch’s murder, Kyle Williams Tannock, Kiwaun Gilbert and Bennett Phipps were convicted of taking part in the attack on Mr. Furbert, and were remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date. The scene was emotional, with one defendant screaming profanities at the judge at he was taken away in handcuffs. A sixth man, Kiawan Trott, was cleared of any involvement.
