May 10, 2010

A man who was stabbed over the weekend has declined to tell the Police how he received the wound.

In addition, the people who brought him to the hospital also declined to provide any details.

At 3am on Sat May 8, the Police say they were at King Edward Memorial Hospital when a 20 year old Warwick man was brought into the hospital with a stab wound. Both the victim, and the individuals who brought him to the Hospital, declined to offer any information about the incident which resulted in the injury.

Reports suggest the man later had to have his spleen removed, and that the incident may have occurred in the disturbance listed below.

Saturday night had additional disturbances, one which saw a melee on Front Street outside popular bar ‘The Beach’, in which the Police used “Captor” spray to attempt to disperse the crowd. Bernews understands that a group of men were taunting another group, and the altercation ensued.

Also, approximately one hour after the stabbing victim arrived at the hospital, a 22 year man was brought to the hospital after being shot at Ice Queen.

The police say inquiries into these incidents are underway. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information about any of these incidents to contact 295-0011.
