New! Legal Column With Attorney Kyle Masters

Need legal advice? Interested in the law? Bernews readers now have the opportunity to get answers to their legal questions from Bermudian attorney Kyle Masters as we launch his new column.

Mr. Masters, an associate at Trott & Duncan Barristers and Attorneys, will field readers’ questions on criminal, civil and commercial legal matters.

One of the newest member of the Trott & Duncan litigation team, Mr. Masters was called to the Bermuda Bar in July, 2009.

The first recipient of the now annual Shirley D. Simmons Scholarship award in 2007, Mr. Masters served his pupilage supervised by senior litigator, Delroy Duncan.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at St. Mary’s University in Nova Scotia, Mr. Masters went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at BPP professional law school in London England. He completed the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) at the College of Law, also in London. He was called to the bar of England and Wales in 2008.

In September, 2009, Mr. Masters was sent by the firm to London England to undergo further practical training in the area of commercial litigation at 4 Stone Buildings in London, a leading commercial and insolvency practice. In April last year he returned to Trott & Duncan’s litigation department and now enjoys a varied litigation practice representing clients in areas such as crime, landlord and tenant disputes, immigration appeals, civil claims against the Government, employment disputes, trust and commercial litigation and property disputes.

    Great to see a young man making positive moves. I’ve known Kyle since he was a young kid and he always presented himself as respectful, humble and intelligent and wasn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd when so many others tried so hard to lower themselves.

    Well Done my brother. Please keep up the good work and prove (long Term)that all Lawyers, Doctors and Bankers are not Wankers. I am very proud to see that you are doing so many positive things in our small island. It is examples like yourself that shows, hard work and determination, and a good education helps with the keys to success (Also having a foundation with our Lord and Saviour). We need to hear more examples such as these and maybe, just maybe, one young men can inspire to do positive things as well.
