BASA Confirm New Bermuda Records

The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association has confirmed a total of ten New Records set. During the Best of the Best Series first Event at the BASA Pool on March 03rd, Emma Harvey set the New Female 9-10 years – 200m Backstroke Record with a time of 2:25.58, the Previous record of 3:01.08 was set on June 08, 2002 by Rebecca Sharpe

Harvey also broke the Female 9-10 years – 100m Individual Medley Record when she clocked a time of 1:20.55, breaking Ashley Yearwoods record of 1:22.87 which was set on June 05, 2005.

The team of Ashley Irby, Lizzie Thresh, Alyssa Paynter and Harvey are the new Record Holders in the Female 9-10 years 4x100m Free Relay when they recorded a time of 5:06.98.

Jude Moseley, Myles Packwood, Yannick Hillier and Alex Pilgrim hold the Male 9-10 years 4x100m Free Relay Record after they clocked a time of 5:32.00, while the team of Brittany Siddle, Paige Bruton, Madelyn Moore and Shannon Hassell now share the Female 11-12 years 4x100m Free Relay Record with a time of 4:43.90.

Jesse Washington broke his own Male 11-12 years 50m Butterfly Record when he clocked a time of 29.94, breaking his previous record of 30.14 which he set on June 11th, 2011.

The team of Josh Irvine, Nicholas Brando, Brett Smith and Evan Farrow now hold the Male 11-12 years 4x100m Free Relay Record with a time of 5:22.08, while Anna Harrington, Sommer Froud, Claudia Camara and Susanna Armano now hold the Female 13-14 years 4x100m Freestyle Record with a time of 4:45.14.

During the Speedo Western Canadian Championships in Winnipeg Canada on February 16th, Stephanie Myles broke the Open Female 800m Freestyle Record with a time of 9:13.64, breaking the previous record of 10:59.15 which was set on December 03rd, 2005 by Eleanor Gardner.

Later in the same event Myles broke her own Open Female 1500m Freestyle Record with a time of 17:49.73, breaking the previous record of 17:49.73 which she set on January 13th, 2012.

During the Long Course AT&T National Championships in Atlanta, Georgia on December 03rd 2011, Julian Fletcher set a new Open Male 100m Breaststroke Record when he touched the wall in a time of 1:03.97, breaking the previous record of 1:04.04 which was set on November, 1993 by Chris Flook.
