Brangman Appeals Sexual Assault Conviction

September 14, 2012

Yesterday [Sept 13] Glenn Brangman — a former Bermuda Regiment officer and former manager of the Bermuda Housing Corporation [BHC] — launched an appeal against his conviction of assaulting a male employee.

At Mr Brangman’s trial, the evidence was that at the time of the offences Mr Brangman was then employed by BHC and the victim was a 19-year-old male who had been employed at the BHC and who was living in BHC housing.

Mr Brangman, 60, is represented by lawyer Shade Subair. ZBM reported last night that she said the Court failed to take into account her client’s “good character” and the victim’s “bad character” with Ms Subair saying the charges “were concocted and only designed to extort money from her client.”

  1. Truth is killin' me... says:

    Brother…you need help.

  2. Just One says:

Where there’s smoke there’s fire… definitely needs help… perhaps it’s a bipolar disorder and he is unaware of what his alter ego has done… just because he’s never been convicted before, doesn’t mean that he didn’t do it. There are quite a few soldiers that would agree, having FIRST HAND information… so much for “good character”

  3. US Observer in Pink Sand says:

I wonder who actually started the fire…then called the fire department to come put it out – here comes the smoke.

  4. SamCrow says:

“Mr.Let Me Measure Your In-Seam” man all them regiment pants are one size fits all.

  5. um just saying says:

lol major brangman is a f#$$@ hahaha

  6. Just One says:

No need for name calling, perpetrators were victims themselves at some point; It’s a vicious cycle. Atrocious as the crime is, I want him to get help. Although Westgate probably can’t provide that help, but at least he can’t reoffend if locked up. I say send all sex offenders overseas to a specialized sex offenders rehabilitation facility.

    Gotta break the cycle somehow…

  7. Cleancut says:

He was convicted in January, 8 months ago. How long should he be out on bail? How long can he appeal for.

Seems to me that Mr. Justice Kawaley maybe under some pressure.

Brangman is guilty and he needs to be sentenced.

    • Dont Know says:

I agree he was found guilty several months ago and needs to be locked up – however he does need to get help to break this destructive cycle.

  8. M.P.Mountbatten JP says:

He is guilty of being a sly old fox in charge of the hen house .

  9. sick an tired says:

the sad thing in the bermuda society is that…people here dont forgive to easly, being a small community, however a big ego does not help your
situtation either…all the best mr. brangman!

Its very interesting he drove by me one day and all I hear coming from his car was a religious sermon. When one does not admit his wrong HE WILL NOT BE FORGIVEN.
