Dwayne Leverock Honoured For Police Service
After nearly four decades of dedicated service, veteran Bermuda Police Service officer Dwayne “Sluggo” Leverock has been recognised for his outstanding commitment.
A police spokesperson said, “After close to forty years wearing the uniform of the Bermuda Police Service [BPS], Constable 772, Dwayne Leverock, was recently recognised for his service to the people of Bermuda.
“With the BPS Senior Command along with family members on hand, “Sluggo”, as PC Leverock is perhaps best known, was celebrated as a dedicated officer who led by example.
“A true professional, PC Leverock was recognised by his colleagues as a mentor to young officers, assisting with their development and helping to build confidence in the performance of their duties.
“He was also praised for being a voice of reason, with the ability to deescalate volatile situations. Not only that, PC Leverock is also known for providing advice and guidance to ranking officers still relatively young in the service. Guidance and advice based upon his many years of service in various departments throughout the BPS.
“And while he is renowned the world over for that one handed stunner in the 2007 Cricket World Cup, we’d like to think the former left arm spinner was an even better police officer.
“Join us in thanking P.C. Leverock for sticking to the wicket for what has been a long and productive innings, in service to the people of Bermuda.”
