Video: Bermudian Artists Win Award In Hollywood
[Updated with additional video] Bermudian artists ill-Logical Linguistics – Lyricist, Joshua “Fatz” Simons and Producer/DJ, Craig Simons, won the 2012 Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Rap/Hip Hop for their single, “Go Slow.”
The award was presented last night in Hollywood, CA in the legendary Fonda Theatre. CEO of PlayList Management, LLC Theresa Minors stated, “We are extremely proud of their accomplishment. This win validates their hard work and the emerging music industry on the island.”
Additionally, ill-Logical Linguistics accomplished another feat by closing the show with a performance of the single with local collaborators Victims of Existence – Singer/songwriter John Eric Amaral and Rapper Khari “Otis B’ Thornhill.
The crowd was on their feet for the performance, with celebrities actor Eric Roberts, actress Natasha Henstridge, and former Matchbox 20 singer Adam Gaynor all dancing along.
The Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) is a live red-carpet style awards show honoring the music of visual mediums, the music of independent music artists, and the professionals responsible for placing music in visual mediums. The two-hour awards event features live music performances, award presentations, celebrity appearances, a dinner banquet and more.
The artists extended their special thanks to IVibes Productions, Suntoucher Entertainment, Lifestyles Entertainment, all of our local supporters, as well as the Bermuda Department of Tourism for their assistance and support.
