Tennis: Langton Adult Open Day #2 Results

The Langton Adult Open Spring 2014 Singles Tennis Tournament continued at the Fairmont Southampton Tennis Courts.

In the Men’s Open Singles Semi-Final action number Two Seed Gavin Manders defeated number Four seed Samuel Butler in a three set battle. Manders won the first set 6 – 2, but Butler would fight back and win the second set 6 – 3.

Manders would win the third set marathon 6 – 4 to advance to the Finals. In the other Semi-Final, number Three seed Jenson Bascome defeated the tournament number One seed David Thomas in a three setter. Thomas won the first set 6 – 1, but Bascome would win the next two sets 6 – 4, 6 – 4 to advance to the Final.

In the Men’s West Draw first Semi-Final, Hugh Seymour defeated Myles Smith in straight sets 6 – 3, 6 – 0 and Luke Stirling won the other Semi-Final in straight sets defeating Yontz Sutton 6 – 2, 6 – 2.

Jack Keyes won his Men’s North Draw Semi-Final match in straight sets defeating Paul York 6 – 1, 6 – 0 and Romar Douglas won his Semi-Final match in a three set battle against Christopher Weeks, Weeks won the first set 6 – 3, but Douglas would come back and win the next two sets 6 – 2, 6 – 0 to advance to the Final.

The Women’s Open Singles are being played in a Round Robin format, in Round 4, Jacklyn Lambert defeated Caitlin Gordon in straight sets 6 – 2, 6 – 1, while Tyler Smith defeated Kristin Saltus in straight sets 6 – 1, 6 – 0.

In Round 5 Tyler Smith defeated Cayla Cross in straight sets 6 – 4, 6 – 2 and Caitlin Gordon defeated Kristin Saltus in straight sets 6 – 1, 6 – 2.
