Day #1: ITF Junior Tennis Tournament Results

The Bank of Bermuda Foundation ITF Junior Tennis Tournament got underway at the WER Joell Tennis Stadium.

Players from 26 countries will compete for World Ranking Points.

In Qualifying action on Day One, Rafael Bejar Levy from Mexico advanced in the Boy’s 18 Singles after defeating Xavier Lawrence from Barbados in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. Another early Boy’s 18 Singles match saw Ruben Morhain from France defeat Caleb Astwood from Bermuda in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

Rafael Campos from Brazil defeated Connor Anderson from Bermuda in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, Zaharije-Zak Talic from Australia defeated William Shkrob from the USA in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Jamaica’s Jacob Bicknell defeated Rafael Grovas from Peru in a three setter 1-6, 6-2, 7-6.

American Sifa Albertha Butcher defeated Bermuda’s Lauren Way in straight sets 5-4, 4-1 in their Girls Under 14 Singles match, while Imani Phillips won an all Bermuda match in straight sets 4-1, 4-2 over Shelby Madeiros.

In Girls 18 Singles action Georgina Sanders from Great Britain defeated Alexander Noback from USA in straight sets 6-0, 6-0
