Scraders, Webb Win CAC Championship Medals
The 2014 CAC Junior Championships got underway in Morelia, Mexico on Friday [July 4] with Bermuda’s athletes taking to the track to compete and capturing a gold and bronze.
Kyrah Scraders captured a gold medal during the 14-17 Girls 800m Junior B race clocking a time of 2:14.00. Kyle Webb picked up the second medal of the night for Bermuda winning a bronze medal in the 18-19 Boy’s 100m Final clocking a time of 10.55.
With a leap of 1.70m Sakari Famous finished 4th taking part in the 14-17 Girls High Jump, while Azaire Smith finished 7th with a top leap of 1.60m.
Jordan Bascome began competing in the 14-17 Girls Heptathlon finishing the hurdles event in 9th place with a time of 18.19. She then had a top leap of 1.42m finishing 9th in the high jump event.
In her third event of the day, Bascome finished 8th during the shot put with a toss of 8.47m and then clocked 27.01 on her way to finishing 4th in the 200m event.
Clocking a time of 2:04.63 saw David Darrell finish 8th in the 14-17 Boys 800m race, while Dage Minors finished 8th in the 18-19 Boys 800m Race clocking 2:00.03.
Kyle Webb advanced to the 18-19 Boy’s 100m Final after finishing the event with the 4th fastest time clocking 10.54.
