DUI yes arrest people for that, but when it comes to warrants for traffic I think the system is stupid. I had a warrant for a unpaid ticket. I made the right turn on East Broadway at 915 am and I got a ticket…I forgot about the ticket a Police officer saw my arrest warrant and called one of my staff members who then informed me….the ticket was then paid…even the police officer said she don’t like the fact that people get arrested for such a silly offence..people forget about tickets I know it’s up to the individual to make sure that there ticket(s) are paid, but if I would have received a reminder in the mail I would have definitely paid that ticket. My nephew going away to school, had a 75 ticket stopped at the airport, put in hand cuffs,he couldn’t travel that day..and when he offered to pay the $75.00 there and then…They told him no,locked him up and he had to court the next morning….If any politician read this can you please fix this systems of being arrested and sent to lock up for such minor offences….I know some people who read this is gonna say just pay the ticket and you would not get arrested. People forget and I think a reminder from the courts or the police would serve as a reminder to pay that ticket to avoid police lock up.
